First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether a natural plant compound called EMIQ can safely help overweight and obese adults lose body fat. Over 12 weeks, 65 participants took either EMIQ or a placebo twice daily. Researchers measured changes in body fat, weight, and other health markers to see if EMIQ offers a safe way to manage weight.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
enzymatically modified isoquercitrin (EMIQ), a natural plant product
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a safe, natural supplement to help reduce body fat in overweight and obese individuals.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 65 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The effect on body fat may be modest or no better than placebo.
