Summary
This study tested whether adding a specific trauma therapy (EMDR) to standard HIV medical care could help people recently diagnosed with HIV. It involved 40 participants, with half receiving weekly EMDR sessions for up to six months. The goal was to see if reducing psychological trauma from the diagnosis could improve mental health, quality of life, and even key biological markers of HIV.
