Summary
This study looked at how intense training affects stress hormones and mood in 28 elite male and female rowers. After a week of hard workouts, athletes did a maximum rowing test, and researchers measured chemicals in their blood linked to stress and brain function. The goal was to learn more about physical and mental fatigue in top athletes and whether men and women respond differently.
