Needles vs. nerves: electroacupuncture may ease wisdom tooth surgery

NCT ID NCT07509294

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether adding electroacupuncture to standard numbing medicine can lower pain and stress during impacted wisdom tooth extraction. Sixty adults aged 25-35 will be split into three groups: real electroacupuncture, fake acupuncture, or no extra treatment. Researchers will measure pain, stress, and biological markers like cortisol to see if the needles make a difference.
