Zap therapy tested to ease agony after grueling cancer surgery
NCT ID NCT06340906
Summary
This small pilot study is testing whether electroacupuncture—a form of acupuncture with mild electrical stimulation—is a practical and helpful way to manage difficult symptoms after a major abdominal cancer surgery. The study will enroll 20 patients who have undergone this specific surgery to see if the treatment can reduce pain, nausea, diarrhea, and insomnia during recovery. Researchers will also check if the treatment affects certain blood markers related to these symptoms.
