Zapping the 'Wandering Nerve' to fight Alzheimer's decline?

NCT ID NCT04908358

Summary

This study is testing whether a gentle, non-invasive electrical stimulation of a neck nerve (called the vagus nerve) can improve memory and thinking skills in older adults. Researchers will give the stimulation to about 140 participants and measure changes in their ability to remember names and faces, along with other cognitive tests. They will also check blood for signs of brain inflammation to see if the treatment affects it.
