Shocking neck pain relief: electrical stimulation boosts exercise results

NCT ID NCT07375823

First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 30, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looked at whether adding electrical muscle stimulation to standard exercise therapy can improve neck muscle function and reduce pain in young adults with cervical radiculopathy (nerve-related neck pain, numbness, or weakness). Fifty participants aged 18-29 did 12 sessions of exercise over 6 weeks, with half also receiving electrical stimulation on their upper back muscles. The goal was to see if the combination leads to better endurance and strength compared to exercise alone.
