Sex before surgery? new study tests if it helps surgeons remove prostate cancer

NCT ID NCT07243795

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether having an orgasm within 36 hours before prostate cancer surgery makes the seminal vesicles smaller and easier for the surgeon to remove. About 40 men will be randomly assigned to either ejaculate or abstain for at least 72 hours before their operation. The goal is to see if this simple step can shorten surgery time and reduce difficulty.
