Doctors use special imaging to Fine-Tune ventilators for critically ill kids

NCT ID NCT07402174

Summary

This study aims to learn if using a special imaging technique called Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) can help doctors adjust ventilator settings more safely and effectively in children with severe lung failure (ARDS). Eight children on breathing machines will have their ventilator pressure carefully adjusted while doctors use EIT to watch how air spreads in their lungs in real-time. The goal is to gather information to design better future treatments, not to cure the underlying condition.
