Major trial aims to halt scarring in common liver disease

NCT ID NCT07221188

Summary

This large, late-stage study is testing whether a new drug called efimosfermin alfa is safe and can help control a type of fatty liver disease called MASH. It will involve about 1,250 adults with moderate liver scarring to see if the drug can reduce fat and stiffness in the liver. The main goal is to check for side effects, but researchers will also measure changes in liver health using blood tests and scans.
