Summary
This study looked at how two hormones that rise during pregnancy—estradiol and cortisol—affect the way the body processes THC, the main psychoactive ingredient in cannabis. Fourteen healthy women of childbearing age took a synthetic THC drug (dronabinol) under controlled conditions. The goal was to better understand how cannabis use during pregnancy might impact both the mother and the developing baby.
