Brain wave monitor may help kids get perfect MRI sedation dose

NCT ID NCT06867289

First seen Mar 13, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a special brain wave (EEG) score can predict if a child will need more sedation for a successful brain MRI. About 50 children under 5 (or older children at risk of movement) will receive a standard dose of sedation, and their EEG score will be checked. The goal is to see if the score can identify who needs a higher dose, helping avoid repeat scans and keeping children safe.
