Pregnancy exercise class: just 60 minutes could boost confidence and activity
NCT ID NCT07486999
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This pilot study tests whether a single 60-minute group educational session on safe therapeutic exercise during pregnancy can improve pregnant women's knowledge, confidence, and physical activity levels. Thirty low-risk pregnant women will be randomly assigned to receive either standard prenatal care or standard care plus the educational session. Researchers will measure changes in knowledge and self-efficacy two weeks later. The study is purely educational and does not require any exercise.

- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could show that a brief group class helps pregnant women feel more confident and active, supporting healthier pregnancies.

- This is a very small pilot study (30 participants) with only two weeks of follow-up, so results may not apply widely. It tests education only, not actual exercise, so benefits may be limited.
