Can a 'School' for patients prevent amputations?
NCT ID NCT07201168
Summary
This study tested whether a special educational program could help people with severe leg artery disease (critical limb ischemia) manage their condition better. 184 patients were randomly assigned to receive either the education program plus standard care or just standard care alone. The program taught patients about their disease, lifestyle changes, and when to seek help, with the goal of reducing hospital visits, improving quality of life, and preventing serious complications like amputation.
