Can a tablet in the ER stop teen suicide? new study aims to lock away lethal means

NCT ID NCT07111052

Summary

This study is testing a tablet-based tool called 'Lock and Protect' given to parents in a children's hospital emergency room. The goal is to see if the tool is practical and acceptable for helping parents safely store guns and medications at home to reduce their teen's suicide risk. Researchers will enroll 50 families where a teen (13-17) is being seen for suicidal thoughts or self-harm and measure if home safety changes one month later.
