ER-Based care model aims to curb opioid crisis

Summary

This study tests a program called ED LINC, which provides ongoing support and care coordination for people with opioid use disorder starting in the emergency department. About 500 adults with moderate to severe opioid use disorder will be randomly assigned to either the ED LINC program or usual care. The goal is to see if the program helps reduce illicit opioid use, increase the use of medications for opioid use disorder, and lower emergency department visits over one year.
