ER-Based care program aims to curb opioid use and keep patients in treatment

Summary

This study tests a program called ED LINC, which provides coordinated care starting in the emergency department for people with opioid use disorder. About 500 adults with moderate to severe opioid use disorder will either receive this program or usual care. The goal is to see if the program helps reduce illicit opioid use, get more people to start and stay on medication for their condition, and lower repeat emergency visits.
