First seen Nov 19, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looks at whether measuring a patient's breathing effort can help doctors decide the best time to remove ECMO support in adults with severe lung failure (ARDS). About 50 participants will be randomly assigned to have their breathing monitored or not. The goal is to see if this approach reduces the total time spent on a breathing machine.
