First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study looks at how different types of blood platelets change in adults who need ECMO support for severe heart or lung failure. Researchers will take blood samples on days 1, 3, and 7 after ECMO starts to track these changes. The goal is to better understand why some patients develop bleeding or clotting problems during ECMO treatment.
