Life support as a bridge: new hope for lung transplant patients in crisis
NCT ID NCT06770023
Summary
This study is testing a special type of heart-lung machine to see if it can safely support very sick patients with severe heart failure caused by lung disease while they wait for a lung transplant. It will involve a small group of 4 adults who are already on the transplant list but are too unstable to wait without major support. The main goal is to see if this machine can keep them alive and stable enough to successfully receive their new lungs.
