Heart valve surgery without x-rays? new study tests safer imaging
NCT ID NCT07317804
Summary
This study is testing a new way to guide a common heart valve replacement procedure. It will compare using only ultrasound imaging against the standard method that uses both ultrasound and X-rays. The goal is to see if the ultrasound-only method works just as well while potentially reducing risks like kidney injury from X-ray dye and radiation exposure for patients and staff.
