Trial aims to tame dangerous side effect for vulnerable lung cancer patients

Summary
This study is testing if two existing medications can help prevent severe shortness of breath in people with lung cancer and a pre-existing lung scarring disease (ILD) who need radiation therapy. About 98 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the drugs (N-acetylcysteine and/or a short steroid course) or placebos alongside their radiation. The main goal is to see if these treatments can make it easier for patients to breathe after their cancer treatment.
