First seen Mar 30, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using a small camera pill (video capsule endoscopy) right after a negative stomach scope can help find the source of bleeding faster in people with suspected upper gastrointestinal bleeding. The standard approach usually does a colonoscopy first. The study will compare how often each method finds the bleeding, how long people stay in the hospital, and overall costs. About 70 adults with signs of bleeding but a normal stomach scope will take part.
