Could sitting up help patients fight for breath?

NCT ID NCT04472260

Summary

This study is testing whether carefully raising patients with severe lung failure (ARDS) to a more upright position in bed is safe and practical. It will compare this 'verticalization' technique to the standard 'prone' (face-down) position to see if it helps patients get similar improvements in oxygen levels. The goal is to find a simpler, potentially safer way to help these critically ill patients breathe better.
