First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tests whether a type of talk therapy called Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT), delivered via video calls, can prevent or delay bipolar disorder in teens (ages 12-18) who have a parent with bipolar disorder and are at high risk themselves. 120 participants will be randomly assigned to either IPSRT or a healthy lifestyle program. Researchers will track mood symptoms and sleep over 18 months to see if the therapy helps stabilize daily rhythms and reduce the chance of developing the condition.
