Nurses' quick check could save lives in sepsis race

NCT ID NCT06910891

Summary

This study is testing if having nurses check a patient's small blood vessels (microcirculation) can help spot sepsis patients who are getting worse, even when their main vital signs look okay. The goal is to start giving these patients extra fluids sooner to try to prevent organ failure and death. Researchers will follow over 550 adults with suspected sepsis in the emergency room to see if this early check leads to better outcomes.
