Could an ancient remedy cut early deaths in leukemia?
NCT ID NCT07503730
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether giving a Chinese herbal medicine called Realgar-Indigo naturalis formula (RIF) together with standard vitamin A therapy right away can lower the risk of early death in people with a fast-growing blood cancer called acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL). About 224 adults with suspected APL will be randomly assigned to get either RIF plus standard care or standard care alone before their diagnosis is confirmed. The goal is to see if early RIF reduces deaths within the first 30 days.
