Summary
This study looks at whether bringing in palliative care early during an unplanned hospital stay can reduce aggressive treatments at the end of life for people with advanced cancer. About 493 adults with metastatic digestive, gynecological, ENT, or sarcoma cancers will be randomly assigned to either early integrated palliative care or usual care. The goal is to see if early collaboration between oncologists and palliative care doctors leads to less chemotherapy, fewer ER visits, and fewer ICU stays near death.
