What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

water (early oral hydration)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could lead to a simple, low-cost way to reduce thirst and improve comfort after urological procedures.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage trial with only 200 participants, so results may not apply to all patients. There is a small risk of choking or vomiting when drinking soon after surgery.
