Summary

This study aims to find better ways to detect lung cancer early in people at high risk. Researchers are following 45 current or former heavy smokers who are uninsured, collecting samples and performing regular chest scans over five years. The goal is to learn what signs might predict cancer development so doctors can spot it at its most treatable stage.
