Heart scan could let High-Risk patients stop risky blood thinners early

NCT ID NCT07238764

Summary

This study tested if diabetic patients at high risk of bleeding could safely stop taking two blood-thinning drugs (DAPT) early after getting a heart stent. Doctors used a high-resolution scan (OCT) to check if the artery had healed enough one month after the procedure. If it had, patients stopped one of the drugs. The goal was to see if this personalized approach was as safe as the standard six months of dual therapy in preventing both clots and serious bleeding.
