New study tests early procedure for deadly lung clots
NCT ID NCT06672081
First seen Mar 08, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tests whether using a catheter early (a thin tube to break up or remove clots) plus standard care works better than standard care alone for people with severe, life-threatening blood clots in the lungs. About 210 participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. The goal is to see if the early procedure reduces death, cardiac arrest, or persistent shock within the first week.
