Can early heart treatment stop a second stroke?

NCT ID NCT05293080

First seen May 19, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether starting comprehensive heart rhythm control early after a stroke caused by atrial fibrillation can prevent future strokes, heart failure, or heart attacks. About 1,700 adults who had a stroke in the last month and were recently diagnosed with atrial fibrillation will receive either early rhythm control or usual care. The goal is to see if early treatment reduces the risk of serious heart and brain events.
