Do ear tubes help kids sleep better? new study investigates
NCT ID NCT06100159
Summary
This study aimed to find out if inserting small ear tubes (tympanostomy tubes) improves sleep and quality of life for young children with long-lasting fluid in the middle ear (chronic otitis media with effusion). Researchers compared 60 children, aged 1-4, who either got the tubes right away or were observed for an extra month first. They measured sleep with a wrist-worn activity monitor and asked parents about their child's and their own quality of life.
