Scientists zap ears to unlock secrets of the Gut-Brain connection

NCT ID NCT00200889

Summary

This study aims to understand how a gentle, non-painful form of ear stimulation affects communication between the brain and the stomach. Researchers will use MRI scans to measure brain and stomach activity in healthy adults and people with functional dyspepsia (indigestion) while they receive the stimulation. The goal is to gather basic knowledge about how this type of nerve stimulation works in the body.
