First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a special mix of essential amino acids and carboxylic acids (EAA-AC) to a low-calorie, low-protein diet helps people with severe obesity lose more weight and maintain muscle mass. Sixty adults aged 45-65 with a BMI over 35 will be randomly assigned to receive either the supplement or a placebo for two weeks during a rehabilitation program. Researchers will measure weight loss, muscle strength, walking ability, and blood sugar and fat levels.
