First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looks at whether e-cigarettes or a medication called cytisine can help people who still smoke despite trying standard treatments like nicotine patches and counseling. About 6,000 adults who smoke at least 5 cigarettes a day will be randomly given either an e-cigarette starter kit or a 28-day supply of cytisine. Researchers will track how many people use these options and whether they reduce their smoking or quit altogether.
