E-Cigarettes as a harm reduction tool for stubborn smokers?
NCT ID NCT06472869
First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This small pilot study tested whether giving free e-cigarettes to people who still smoked after lung cancer screening would help them cut back. Fifteen participants who didn't plan to quit smoking were given NJOY ACE e-cigarettes for 4 weeks and followed for 8 weeks total. The study looked at how many people joined and stayed, and whether they smoked fewer cigarettes per day. It's a first step to see if this approach is feasible and acceptable.
