E-Cigs vs. patches: new study aims to cut smoking in mentally ill

Summary

This study tests whether giving e-cigarettes or nicotine patches, along with counseling and text messages, helps people with serious mental illness reduce or stop smoking. 60 participants who smoke at least 5 cigarettes daily will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. The goal is to see which approach works better for cutting down on cigarettes.
