Can switching to vaping help smokers with COPD?

NCT ID NCT05239793

Summary

This small pilot study is looking at whether switching from regular cigarettes to e-cigarettes might help people with COPD. Researchers will follow 30 smokers with mild to moderate COPD to see if using e-cigarettes reduces their daily cigarette use, improves breathing symptoms, and lowers signs of lung inflammation. The goal is to gather early information about the potential health effects of e-cigarettes on people with existing lung disease.
