E-book vs. PDF: which teaches nurses pressure injury care better?
NCT ID NCT07341620
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether an interactive e-book can improve home care nurses' knowledge and confidence in treating pressure injuries compared to standard PDF materials. About 132 nurses will use either the e-book or PDFs for one month and complete surveys before, right after, and one month later. The goal is to see if digital learning can overcome training challenges, especially in rural areas.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Interactive e-book on pressure injury care
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that digital training tools effectively boost nurses' skills in managing pressure injuries at home, potentially improving patient outcomes and reducing hospital readmissions.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage educational study with 132 participants, not a clinical treatment trial. Results may not apply to all settings, and any improvement in knowledge may not directly translate to better patient care.
