New study tracks breathing difficulties in lung scarring patients
NCT ID NCT04864990
First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looked at how shortness of breath changes over 6 months in 51 people with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a lung scarring disease. Researchers measured both the physical sensation and emotional impact of breathlessness using questionnaires. The goal was to better understand these symptoms and how they relate to lung function, without testing any new treatment.
