New scan could spare heart patients from invasive procedure

NCT ID NCT05940285

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special heart scan (dynamic SPECT) can accurately detect leftover blockages in heart attack survivors, compared to the current standard invasive test (FFR). About 60 adults with multiple blocked arteries will get both tests. If the scan works well, it could offer a safer, needle-free way to guide treatment.
