Drug trial targets debilitating itch in liver patients

NCT ID NCT04256759

Summary

This small, exploratory study tested whether an existing medication called dupilumab could help reduce severe, chronic itching in adults with liver disease. Nine participants received the drug for 18 weeks while researchers tracked their itch intensity and quality of life. The goal was to see if this treatment could ease a distressing symptom that often has few good options.
