New shot aims to shield city kids from dangerous asthma Flare-Ups

NCT ID NCT05347771

Summary

This study is testing if adding a medication called dupilumab to standard asthma treatment can help prevent severe asthma attacks in children and teenagers living in urban areas. About 240 participants, aged 6 to 17, who have frequent asthma flare-ups will receive either the new medication or a placebo injection alongside their usual care for one year. The main goal is to see if dupilumab reduces the number of times these kids need steroid treatments or hospital visits for their asthma.
