Could antibody infusions replace daily HIV pills for kids?

NCT ID NCT03707977

First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested whether giving two lab-made antibodies (VRC01LS and 10-1074) could keep HIV suppressed in 30 children in Botswana who started HIV treatment very early. The children stopped their regular HIV pills and received antibody infusions instead. The goal was to see if the antibodies could safely maintain low virus levels without daily medication, though lifelong monitoring or treatment may still be needed.
