New drug targets brain tumors before surgery in early trial

NCT ID NCT06636162

First seen Mar 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This early study tests an oral drug called DSP-0390 in 20 people with IDH-mutant gliomas (a type of brain tumor) who are scheduled for surgery. Participants take the drug for about 2 weeks before their tumor is removed. Researchers measure how much drug reaches the tumor and blood, and look for changes in cholesterol-related markers. The goal is to learn if the drug can build up in the tumor and kill cancer cells, not to provide a cure.
