New Touch-Free laser offers hope for glaucoma patients who need a second treatment
NCT ID NCT07589270
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a new laser treatment called DSLT for people with high eye pressure or open-angle glaucoma who have already had a similar laser (SLT). The DSLT laser does not touch the eye, which may make it faster and more comfortable. Researchers want to see how well it lowers eye pressure after 6 months in 60 adults.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Direct Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (DSLT) using the Voyager™ device
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could offer a quick, comfortable laser option for glaucoma patients who need additional pressure lowering after a previous laser treatment.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage study with no control group, so results may not apply broadly. The pressure-lowering effect may be modest or short-lived in these previously treated patients.
