Healthy volunteers help uncover drug interaction secrets

NCT ID NCT07149415

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looked at how the drug omaveloxolone (used for Friedreich's Ataxia) affects the way the body processes omeprazole, a common heartburn medication. Twenty-two healthy adults took both drugs in a specific order over 17 days. Researchers measured omeprazole levels in the blood to see if omaveloxolone changed how it was absorbed or broken down. The goal was to gather safety and interaction data, not to treat any disease.
