Scientists test new obesity Drug's hidden effects on common pills

NCT ID NCT06564441

Summary

This study aimed to understand if a new injectable drug for weight management (BI 456906/Survodutide) changes how the body processes three common substances: caffeine, a sleep aid (midazolam), and an antidepressant (bupropion). It involved 34 otherwise healthy adults with overweight or obesity. Researchers measured drug levels in participants' blood before and after they received the new treatment to check for any interactions.
